Keukenhof Gardens 2016

Keukenhof Gardens is a great day out to see the flowers. It is one of the world’s largest gardens. There are more than 7 million bulbs in bloom, with around 800 varieties of tulips.

Besides the spacious 32 hectares of flowers, you can enjoy the spectacular flower shows, surprising inspirational gardens, unique artwork and wonderful events. For children there are amongst others a playground, a petting farm and a treasure hunt.

Theme ‘The Goden Age’

The Keukenhof theme for 2016 is ‘The Golden Age’. This is the period in which The Netherlands went through a flourishing period in the field of trade, arts and science. This was also the period in which the world was discovered and the tulip trade thrived.

Flower bulb mosaic

The new flower bulb mosaic shows a Delft Blue cadre in which trade, shipping and Amsterdam canal house are shown. The mosaic will measure 250 square meters and will be planted in two layers with 100.000 tulips, muscari and crocus.

Flower shows

Besides the flower bulb mosaic, the Golden Age also forms an inspiration for the numerous flower shows in the Oranje Nassau Pavillion. Get inspired for your own house and garden or have your picture taken with all those colourful flowers.
